Give-A-Book is proud to continue partnering with the Friends of the Southwest Branch Library. We are honored to have provided several thousand books for Reading is fun & the Summer reading Programs over the past years. We recently delivered over 1,000 seasonal fall books for this fantastic program! We previously provided Accelerated Readers last Fall, Spring and also, "Jack and the Beanstalk" for the Pensacola Opera, Jack and the Beanstalk performance at their location. Thank you, Friends of the Southwest Branch, for making such a difference in all that you do for the children in your programs!

Give-A-Book is very proud to partner with the South Baldwin Literacy Council providing Accelerated Reader books for numerous programs over the past year. We most recently provided various titles for their "Book and A Bear" project. Give-A-Book previously provided the "Queen of Hearts" by Mary Engelbreit, for the Swift Preschool. Thank you, Cathy Rogers and the South Baldwin Literacy Council, for working together to encourage a love of reading

Give-A-Book is proud to continue partnering with the Big Lagoon Kiwanis Club who will again provide Accelerated Reader sets to seven elementary schools in Pensacola this 2016-2017 school year! 

Foley Rotary Club: Providing Special Student Edition Webster Dictionaries.

Various Rotary Clubs: Currently providing sets of books for community libraries and elementary schools in Costa Rican communities being served by Peace Corps Volunteers. Visit our Rotary-Peace Corps-Give-A-Book page for more information. 

 

Give-A-Book is working with the following Elementary Schools:

Foley Elementary, Magnolia Elementary and Elberta Elementary. We are contacting businesses, churches and civic organizations to sponsor Accelerated Reader sets to be provided to each school library. If you would like to help your local school, please contact us today for more information. There are many ways you can help! 

 

Projects with Partners within the past year:

The Optimist Club of Perdido Bay : Providing Kindergarten, First and Second grade students at Elberta Elementary  school with books as a part of their reading to the children program. (Photo)

Cantonment Rotary Club: Providing sets of Accelerated Reader books for three schools, Ensley Elementary, Jim Allen Elementary, and Bratt Elementary. Cantonment Rotary is also sponsoring SL Jones Christian Academy, Pensacola, FL to provide 1000 books for their empty school library.

Big Lagoon Kiwanis Club: Providing sets of Accelerated Reader books for six schools: Blue Angel, Global Learning Academy, Helen Caro, Navy Point, Pleasant Grove, and Warrington Elementary Schools 2013-2014 school year. In the 2015-2016 school year, Myrtle Grove Elementary was included, making seven school libraries receiving AR sets! Please check out the links from the Helen Caro and AR presentations.

Semmes Mason Lodge: Providing multiple Accelerated Reader sets to local schools.

Myrtle Grove United Methodist Church: Providing a set of Accelerated Reader books and a book for each Kindergarten student at Myrtle Grove Elementary School to take home.

Bagdad United Methodist Church: Providing Accelerated Readers for Bagdad Elementary School.

George County Education Foundation: Working with the Education Foundation Committee to provide Accelerated Reader books for each of the elementary schools in George County Mississippi. (Article)
